Allison Lisle was born in Creve Coeur, Missouri, and attended Hillsboro
Missouri Public Schools where she played softball, ran track, and graduated at the top of her class. Allison played
USTA Junior Tennis from the age of 10 until she enrolled at Colorado State University on a tennis scholarship. Upon
graduating from CSU, Allison attended the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine attaining her M.D. in 2001.
She completed her residency in pathology at the University of Missouri Health Care System and is currently doing a Dermatopathology
Fellowship at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. Allison attributes much of her success to her
athletic activities and her high school coaches, Cindy Rugraff and Paul Ziebol, as well as to her junior Tennis
coach, Buddy Strawn and to her CSU coach, Jon Messick.
For several years Allison
thought about how best to inspire young girls to take advantage of the opportunities that athletics afford. She recognized
that no "grassroots" organization of successful women existed to encourage young girls to avail themselves
of the lifelong benefits of athletic participation.
Thus,
NWAA was born. Allison hopes that each of you will work to promote the NWAA goals; further, she
wishes all of you continued success in your lives and careers and hopes that NWAA will give you the means to be a positive
influence in the lives of many more young girls and women.
