Dr. Maria Canazares is currently in private practice as a Dermatologist in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, as well as instructor at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.  Maria received her BA from St. Louis University in 1997 and completed her M.D. at St. Louis University in 2001.   She did her residency at Washington University, Barnes Jewish Hospital where she was Chief Resident in 2007.  Maria has been the recipient of many awards including the Lange Medical Publications Outstanding Medical Student Award at the University of Missouri in 1999. Maria is the mother of two handsome boys.  

Maria met and became friends with Allison Lisle during a Dermatopathology Rotation with Dr. Hurt and Dr. Santa Cruz in St. Louis.  She has been very supportive of Allison’s dream of creating the National Women’s Athletic Association and has graciously agreed to serve on the board and contribute articles for the Newsletter on Dermatology issues affecting women.
