advice to young women is "Set your goals in life, never look back, and only focus on achieving them at any cost/sacrifice.
It took me a deterred path of 17 years to finish my training as a dermatologist (it normally takes a minimum of 12), but I
kept my focus on becoming a doctor after completing a nursing degree, and I was a single mother. I took all of the family
help I could with my child, and I focused: focused on being the best in each class, doing above and beyond what was expected
in order to be the best I could, and I kept the eye on the prize at the end: first becoming a doctor and then second becoming
a dermatologist. You may experience some bumps along the way, but do not let those bumps define you. If you get knocked down,
get back up! I could not be happier being my own "boss," running my own practice, managing my own staff of 4, and
running my own finances. I come and go as I please, and I can afford to live the lifestyle I choose to live. If it weren't
for my current profession, I could not just take off and travel wherever I wanted 2 times every month. No one and nothing
can stop me from achieving everything I want in life because of the choice I made in 1990 to do what I am doing now. It gives
me complete freedom to do what I love to do (patient care), and yet still have the life I want with my children, significant
other, and family. I am the luckiest, most blessed woman."

out into snowboarding. I've also begun tennis lessons recently so I can beat a trash-talking colleague. Sports

possible to be smart, educated and successful at work AND loving, nurturing and dedicated at home. Our society suggests you
can't do both, but I think you can! Pursue and prioritize what makes you happy. Female involvment in sport teaches you perseverance
