FAQS

I'm just beginning high school.  Why should I join NWAA?
It is never too early to plan for your future.  College admission panels look for activities that set you apart from other candidates such as service projects or community work.  NWAA is the ideal organization to join because you are actually contributing to scholarships, and you can even form a local affiliate with your friends who join to organize community benefit projects locally.  NWAA on your resume will be a great advantage and you have the flexibility to pick and design projects you enjoy that will benefit your community.  And since you are in charge, you can expend as much or as little effort as you want.  And don't forget, belonging is contributing!

How will NWAA benefit Men who join?
Most men are or will become fathers and grandfathers of little girls.  By joining NWAA you will be providing the resources necessary to help us further the success of all women including your daughters or granddaughters.  Your membership will help ensure opportunities for young girls who may not have fathers in their homes to offer guidance and support or may not be available to encourage their daughters' success.

What will NWAA do for me if I am currently a college student?
Joining NWAA will look great on your resume, regardless of your goals after college.  Further, you will already belong to a network of women successful in a wide variety of positions in the "real" world.  These connections may prove invaluable when you graduate and begin the job application process.  Of course, you will be providing scholarships to younger girls who would otherwise find attending college difficult or even impossible without help.  Further, you can become as active as you would like in your community by forming a local affiliation with your friends to create imaginative projects such as visiting elementary school classrooms where just your presence will inspire many girls who do not have the kinds of role models you represent.  Or maybe getting a group to train for a 5K run.  Our goal is to help promote wellness and opportunities in your community.  Finally, and importantly, it is an opportunity to develop the habit of philanthropy without breaking your budget.

Are there any financial benefits for me if I join?

We are currently contacting companies that have products especially for women.  We hope that soon you will be able to show your membership card for a discount on these companies' products.  As our membership increases, we hope to offer additional perks that you will be able to enjoy. However, we believe your membership cited on your resume will set you apart from others and will benefit you financially in the long run.
